COVID-19 Infection Control Plan
As the first rule of medicine is “do no harm,” your safety is paramount.
My office follows the infection control recommendations made by the PA Department of Health, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA).
If you exhibit any of the following symptoms, you must cancel your appointment (there will be no cancellation fee): fever, temperature greater than 100.4 degrees, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new onset of loss of taste or smell. I will be subject to the same guidelines and you will be notified if I need to cancel.
If you have been in close contact with or are sheltering in with someone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, you must cancel your appointment (there will be no cancellation fee). I will be subject to the same guidelines and you will be notified if I need to cancel.
Please bring your own pen to the appointment if possible. I will ask you to sign a form attesting to the fact that you are not currently exhibiting signs of COVID-19. That form can be viewed here.
You must wear a mask when entering both the building and the office. If you prefer a disposable mask, I can provide you with one once you reach the office.
You must wash your hands upon arrival. There is a sink in the waiting area in Center City or in the bathrooms in West Philly.
All appointments will be staggered to allow time for extra cleaning and to ensure social distancing between patients. This might also mean fewer appointment options will be offered when scheduling. If the waiting room is occupied when you arrive, please wait in the entryway.
To maintain social distancing and avoid unnecessary contact, please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for your appointment. No other person(s) can accompany you to your appointment. If you need to bring someone with you for assistance, please call me to discuss.
If you are a senior, have respiratory problems, are immunocompromised, or are otherwise uncertain about the possible risks of coming in, please consider scheduling a virtual Telemedicine appointment instead, or please call me to discuss your options.
Again, and most importantly, for the well being of others, if you are feeling sick, or if anyone else in your household is feeling sick, please call me to reschedule.
Please be in touch with me about any questions or concerns you might have as I navigate this new way of practicing. I’m looking forward to seeing you, and I’m happy to answer any questions you might have.
Thank you for working with me to help keep everyone healthy and safe.
