How to Feed Your Heart in the New Year
Speaking of eating only whole foods, here’s an exercise to start your new year off right. Take 10-20 minutes to sit quietly and reflect on how you feel. What feels complete to you? What are you wanting to work on?
During the New Year, we often set off full-steam ahead on self-improvement projects. But remember that winter in Chinese Medicine is the time of “storage,” a time to conserve our energy so that we can spring forward in springtime!
Set aside what you want to improve and focus on what you are grateful for. Shift your focus to how you can maintain relationships and activities that help your heart stay happy and strong.
What support systems do you have in place to help your heart feel truly nourished and fed? How can you give back to those who have helped you in the past? How can you keep your heart nourished and continue nourishing others?
If you take the time to do this exercise, I would love to hear from you about how you have set aside the everyday intention of helping others and nourishing your heart. Giving back to others is so nourishing and so supportive. It will help your heart stay happy and warm regardless of the weather outside. Happy New Year and Many Blessings!!
