Gather Your Grain, Connect with Your Core

Updated: Oct 4

Autumn can come in as a season of reckoning. Suddenly (and it does feel sudden this year for me) the days are cool and crisp. The light has waned. With this natural compression, nature requires us to make choices about how we spend our energy and time.

This is a great time of year to get acupuncture. Many of us feel wobbly as the weather shits, and colds and flus can increase as our immunity adjusts to seasonal changes.

Acupuncture can help you get ahead of this, and it can help you realign your nervous system and get grounded.

Autumn is all about clarity. We turn inwards during this season and we assess what to let go of and what to maintain.

It’s taken me a decade, but I finally found the language to describe who I help best.

I work mostly with women (and some men, and many gender nonconforming people!) struggling with ongoing health conditions who want to feel safe and seen.

Safe and seen were the ingredients that were painfully absent in some of my past medical experiences, and that is the medicine I can offer you this fall.

If you’re wondering what it’s like to work with me, here’s how a client described their experience in an email I received a few weeks ago:

Hi Monica!

I just wanted to let you know that I did get a great night’s sleep last night! 😊 It was such a huge relief. Thank you so so much for all of your support that made that possible!!! And thank you always for helping me (little by little and always at my own pace) feel safer in my own body. You never, ever give up on me and I feel so hugely lucky to keep benefitting from your always-consistent care. Thank you so so so much.

My website has a ton more information about what it’s like to work with me. Take a peek, then reach out to schedule a session or to book a free consult by phone

During the consult, we will talk about what you’re hoping I can help you with, then I will let you know what to expect based on my clinical experience.

Autumn is the time of year where we gather the harvest, store up our grain, and conserve energy so that we can end this cycle of the seasons and prepare for the next.

If you’re feeling like your reserves are low or you could use a little boost, I’m here to help you. Reach out

And, P.S.: Want to learn more about the energetics of autumn AND gain an embodied taste of the relaxation response? There’s still space in my workshop “Rest and Release: Autumn Restorative Yoga Workshop” on Friday October 18th at 7pm at Studio 34 Yoga. This is a great beginner’s friendly practice. Register here.
